For Lake County children living in poverty, our Summer Children’s Feeding Program ensures a consistent diet when they are out for the summer break and are no longer receiving school provided meals.
With your support, we can assure these children do not go hungry and can enjoy their summer by providing breakfast and lunch, along with fresh fruit, milk and juice and a healthy snack during their summer break.
Children in need of food are of particular importance to Lake Cares. A report from Second Harvest Food Bank demonstrates that 1 in 3 children in Lake County suffer from food insecurity, Lake Cares’ Children Feeding Campaign was created to specifically combat this issue in our community.
Lake Cares’ Weekend Children Feeding Campaign provides a nutritious breakfast and lunch to 199 school aged children each weekend.
We Couldn’t Have Done It Without YOU!
Thank you for helping Lake Cares make a positive impact against hunger in 2021.
