Children’s Feeding Programs

At Lake Cares, ensuring that children have access to nutritious food is a top priority. No child should have to face hunger, whether during the school year or over the summer.

Weekend Feeding Program

A healthy, consistent diet is essential for children to thrive academically and physically. Lake Cares provides weekend meal packs—complete with breakfast and lunch—to more than 250 children every weekend throughout the school year, ensuring they have the nutrition they need even when school meals aren’t available.

Summer Feeding Program

For many children in Lake County, summer break means losing access to school-provided meals. Our Summer Children’s Feeding Program bridges that gap, providing nutritious meals so they can enjoy their summer without the worry of hunger.

With your support, we can ensure these children receive breakfast, lunch, fresh fruit, milk, juice, and healthy snacks throughout the summer.

Give the Gift of Nutrition:

Sponsor a child for the summer – A $200 donation provides meals and snacks for an entire 10-week summer program.

Support a child for a week – A $20 donation helps provide meals and snacks for one week.

Together, we can nourish their bodies, fuel their futures, and give them a summer filled with hope.

Holiday Feeding Programs

The holiday season should be a time of joy, togetherness, and special meals shared with loved ones. However, for many families facing financial hardship, putting a holiday meal on the table can be an overwhelming challenge.

Through the Lake Cares Holiday Feeding Program, we provide complete holiday meals to families in need—ensuring that 500 families can celebrate the season with dignity and warmth. With your support, we will distribute meals to 250 families for Thanksgiving Dinner and another 250 families for Christmas Dinner.

A $60 donation provides a holiday meal for a family of four, creating cherished memories and easing the burden for those struggling during this time of year.

Emergency Food Assistance

For families and individuals facing urgent food insecurity, we are here to help. We believe that no one should have to face hunger alone, and our emergency food assistance program provides immediate support to those in need. Whether it’s a temporary crisis or an unexpected challenge, we are committed to ensuring that food is one less thing to worry about.

Pet Food Assistance

While our primary focus is on providing food for families and individuals, we understand that pets are an important part of the family. We gladly accept dog and cat food donations and, when available, provide pet food to clients in need. We are committed to helping ensure that both people and their pets receive the nourishment they need during times of hardship.
