Food Drives

Lake Cares benefits from different types of food drives thanks to giving individuals, groups, and businesses with a heart for others.

You can help Lake Cares meet the growing demand for food and services by holding a designated food drive with a yard sale you're already planning or in conjunction with another event you're holding. Please contact us first if you have an idea. We'd love to hear about it and help promote it on our Facebook page and through our network of volunteers and supporters.

Creative Ideas to Enhance Your Food Drive

Encourage groups to compete to see who can donate the most food. Arrange a lunchtime pizza party for the winners.

Visually display the food that has been donated to encourage others to give.

Have a raffle and offer special donated services from leaders in your organization or company in exchange for significant food donations.

Promote "Macaroni Monday" or "Tuna Tuesday" or other creative ways to encourage donations.

Involve young people through school food drives, scouts and neighborhood collection drives.
